At a time when corporate-owned media outlets cannot or will not devote critical resources to the community-owned newspapers they own, local journalism is at risk. I’ve dedicated my 22-year journalism career to small-town publications because I believe in the close connection to communities, holding local officials accountable and providing a platform for citizens to engage in civic discourse.
